Job description

Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job

  • Be an FP&A business partner for mainly BU and Regional Commercial and ISC controllers and functional controllers to improve financial planning, control and analysis and provide business decision-making support; 
  • Provide business and functions with analytical support, timely and relevant financial analysis related to the on-going business/functional results, ad-hoc analysis, help drive long and mid-term business planning;
  • Support, contribute and drive IBP & Performance Management processes within the business;
  • Extracts financial data from various accounting and information systems and performs financial analyses of business/function figures;
  • Interprets financial data to determine past performance and/or to project the financial probability and/or to provide insights to the Commercial Controllers, the ISC Controllers, G&A functions and to business customers at acceptable cost levels;
  • Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending, results and variance analysis;
  • Drive continuous improvements and standardization across the region;
  • Proactively help other team members to grow and develop.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reporting and analytical support;
  • Be an FP&A business partner for mainly Regional and local Commercial / ISC controllers and functional controllers to improve financial planning, control and analysis and provide business decision-making support;
  • Support BU/Region to deliver business/function performance, planning/budgeting/forecasting projections and actual reporting;
  • Provide business and functions with insightful analytical support, timely and relevant financial analysis related to the on-going business/functional results, ad-hoc analysis, help drive long and mid-term business planning of Commercial/ISC/G&A in the assigned area;
  • Extracts financial data from various accounting and information systems and performs financial analyses of business/function figures;
  • Interprets financial data to determine past performance and/or to project the financial probability and/or to provide insights to the Commercial Controllers, the ISC Controllers, G&A functions and to business customers at acceptable cost levels;
  • Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending, actual results and variance analysis;
  • Support, contribute and execute IBP & Performance Management process;
  • Be a sparring partner for Head of Regional center;
  • Support and coach junior analysts within team.

Continuous improvement

  • Drive standardization of reports and processes across EMEA to gain efficiency;
  • Drive elimination, simplification, standardization and automation of outputs in a structured and consistent manner;
  • Share best practice among the team and across country/region.

Collaboration

  • Commercial controlling in the BU/region/country/cluster;
  • ISC controlling in the BU/region/country/cluster; 
  •  Functional controlling;
  • Regional FP&A analyst from other region;
  • Global Reporting and Analytics team.

Level of Autonomy

  • Interacts with stakeholders/counterparts at the BU/region/country/cluster level from within Finance and outside Finance;
  • Authority levels are aligned with the Delegation of Authority in the function as well as AkzoNobel;
